• New Nissan Altima voted best mid-size sedan in 2017
  • New Nissan Kicks voted best compact-SUV in 2017

Dubai, United Arab Emirates – Nissan secured two awards at this year's third annual Arab Wheels Awards, held at a prestigious ceremony in Dubai's Meydan Hotel. The awards recognized the new Nissan Altima as the best mid-size sedan and the new Nissan Kicks as the best compact-SUV.

"The two awards are a testament to Nissan's commitment to deliver a wide portfolio of cars to its customers in the region, powered by advanced Nissan Intelligent Mobility technology" said Kalyana Sivagnanam, President of Nissan Middle East and Regional Vice President Marketing and Sales for Africa, the Middle East and India, "For not only one, but two of our cars, Nissan Altima and Nissan Kicks to be awarded by Arab Wheels is a real honor."

"The new Nissan Altima and Kicks represent world-class design, innovation and technology, and all of us at Nissan are proud that they have been recognized in one of the region's prestigious industry award ceremonies."

To be eligible for an Arab Wheels Award, the car must be 'all-new' or 'significantly face-lifted' and have been on sale prior to the announcement of the nominated vehicles. The winners are then chosen by jury-members and title readers via an online voting process.

"Our distinguished judging panel is made up of three prominent automotive journalists from the Middle East, with regional expertise" adds Issam Eid, Arab Wheels' Editor-in-Chief. They have significant regional experience and know what makes a car suitable for drivers in the Middle East. For decades, Nissan has been an instrumental part of the market in the region and exceeds its customers' expectations – which is why the modern all-new Altima and dynamic new Kicks won in their categories."

Known for its distinguished design, strong engine, innovative technologies, and best fuel efficiency in its segment, the Nissan Altima continues to be a consumer favorite in the region. The 2017 Nissan Altima combines an 'Energetic Flow' design and an upgraded exterior which includes a V-Motion Grille and boomerang lamp headlights, while the 'Gliding Wing' interior displays a level of opulence that's reminiscent of the premium segment.

Since pioneering the crossover car segment, Nissan continues to dominate with the newly launched Kicks - aimed at urban driving environments it combines a robust exterior and elevated driving position with compact dimensions for agile performance and maneuverability. The Kicks has proved an instant hit in Gulf markets with features in advanced aerodynamic design, which optimize fuel consumption and minimizes noise.

Both award-winning vehicles offer a suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features with the latest smart technologies that maximizes the driver's safety and comfort.
